Workspace is empty

Describe the bug
first use of the extension. when I add variables to my environment I can't find them inthe workspace viewer:

also, the data viewer and plot viewer not working, and when I try to view R graphics window opens:

1. add variable to environment

Expected behavior
view the variables on the workspace viewer
