Intermittent error : Error: Missing download info for actions/checkout@v4 solved by retrying job many times.

I'm running into an intermittent error Error: Missing download info for actions/checkout@v4 . The error seems to go away if I retry the job a few times. As an example, see https://github.com/googleapis/python-api-core/actions/runs/14863065097/job/41732756882 in PR googleapis/python-api-core#812. I've had to retry the jobs about 10 times but it's working now. I just wanted to give a heads up that retrying the job works, in case others run into this same error.

Experienced the same issue, but in our case re running it doesn't solve it for now - 14 times to no avail.

I am also experience the very same problem regardless if the job executes on a self hosted GitHub runner or a GitHub managed runner.

This seems to be happening with either v4 and v3 of actions/checkout

Just a heads up everyone, happened to me. If you get this error and typo'd like I did.
It's

- uses: actions/checkout@v4

not @4. I was missing the v 🤦‍♀️
