[Config Support]: Frigate isn't clearing old files?

Describe the problem you are having

I have set the retention period to 21 days, but I can see that in my Cloud Storage, there is 8.6TB of data, whereas I know that it should be around 3-4TB, but I have just double checked and it is currently 8.6TB.

I've also checked, and there is LOTS of items that is left from well-over 21 days ago (as this is set on all of my retentions)

Do your tracked objects have snapshots? Those are governed by a separate retention policy, and will prevent tracked objects from being purged.

You may want to lower those values more. I'd look at your existing tracked objects to see what they are scoring at and tune it lower than those.

Just to be clear, this specific change will only potentially help to lower the number of tracked objects, not with the storage of them. Lowering the retention days as you've already done is what will change the storage requirements.

I can confirm that it is still tracking them as expected

The camera is only about 12ft from the ground so relatively close to them.

The only question I have is, when will it start deleting the old ones? (I.e. will the count go down once it starts deleting them?)

They are deleted when the recordings and snapshots no longer exist, like was said earlier snapshots have a default retention of 10 days

Perfect thank you @NickM-27 - I've reduced it down to 5 so we'll see!

And thank you @hawkeye217 ! 2 pure thoroughbreds, 1 Irish Sport Horse (Irish draught cross Thoroughbred), 1 gypsy cob, 2 regular cobs, 3 rescues (1 from yard, 1 from mountain in the winter, 1 from grass sickness when the owner couldn't take care).

She wants to get more of them as well!
