Add a “Stage” label to the side panel of the Blockscout explorer, positioned next to the chain logo. This label should reflect the maturity and decentralisation level of the chain, based on L2BEAT's framework.
Requirements:
Display the current stage as a label (e.g. “Stage 1”) beside or below the chain logo
On hover, show a tooltip explaining the meaning of the stage
Stage definitions are based on L2BEAT’s framework:
[not showing this label] Stage 0 – No meaningful decentralisation
The system relies on a centralised operator or lacks mechanisms for users to verify or challenge the state.
Stage 1 – Users can verify state correctness
The system offers fraud or validity proofs, allowing users to check if the state is correct, though some centralised components may remain.
Stage 2 – Users can enforce state correctness
The system is trust-minimised: users can independently verify and enforce correctness without relying on a central party. It meets the full criteria of a decentralised L2.
Use this tooltip copy for now: “The decentralisation and maturity of the chain. Learn more at l2beat.com"
The stage value should be set in the chain config
Chains to apply to:
Base Mainnet -> Stage 1
Arbitrum One Mainnet-> Stage 1
OP Mainnet -> Stage 1
Unichain Mainnet -> Stage 1
Scroll Mainnet -> Stage 1
Ink Mainnet -> Stage 1
Kinto Mainnet -> Stage 1
