how to use hijack-fd without symbol table?

I tried to use hijack-fd on this cat program but it didn't work:

[!] Command 'hijack-fd' failed to execute properly, reason: No symbol table is loaded.  Use the "file" command.

I'm not sure how to add the symbol table so is it possible to use this feature without it?
