Commercial support for Jetty 9.4.x, 10.x, and 11.x is available through Webtide (https://webtide.com). For the past 18 years, Webtide has been supporting older versions of Jetty through support agreements with many companies in a way that the entire community has benefited through open source releases continuing to be released far past the EOL date. The version of Jetty 9.4. x that you are using was one such sponsored release by a Webtide customer. We have used various terms to explain this over the years, like EOCS (end of community support), but the practice of pushing releases of EOL versions of Jetty has continued. Extended support for 9.4. x will remain available through Webtide for many years; we are well aware of how the Java ecosystem has played out, making this necessary. However, the practice of Webtide publishing updates to EOL releases of Jetty into Maven Central is likely to end this year. We will make a formal announcement once the solution for users of these EOL releases is finalized. Regardless, Webtide will continue to support EOL versions of Jetty through commercial relationships. |

We are currently using Jetty 9.4.56.x in our production environment and have learned that the Jetty 9.4.x series, along with Jetty 10.x and 11.x, has reached End of Life (EOL).
As per my understanding Jetty12.x is only supported with Java17. Today Java8.x is still supported (I assume till 2030). So, what happen to customers which are still on valid Java version and need Jetty 3PP?
Upon reviewing the Jetty 12.x series, we found that it requires a minimum JDK version of 17.x, whereas we are currently using JDK 8. and backward compatibility break of latest Jetty 12.x with Java8.x. Today Java8.x is still supported (I assume till 2030). So, what happen to user of jetty which are still on valid Java version and need Jetty 3PP? Due to our internal upgrade schedules and compatibility issues, we would like to inquire about the possibility of obtaining support for version 9.4.x.
Could you please inform us if extended support for 9.4.x is available? If so, we would appreciate details on:
Extended support would be invaluable in helping us maintain security and stability.
we look forward to your response.
