error installing on Rocky-Linux

hello - i am TOTALLY NEW to zfs, and i am trying to follow this **link** closely.

on a very new install, i am seeing this error:

modprobe: FATAL: Module zfs not found in directory /lib/modules/4.18.0-305.3.1.el8_4.x86_64

here are the steps i have done:

####  dnf group install 'C Development Tools and Libraries' 'RPM Development Tools';  this gave me an error!

dnf  -y   group install 'Development Tools';

dnf install https://zfsonlinux.org/epel/zfs-release.el8_4.noarch.rpm;

dnf -y   install epel-release;

dnf  -y  install kernel-devel zfs;

dnf config-manager --disable zfs;
  
dnf  config-manager --enable zfs-kmod;

dnf -y    install zfs;

sh -c "echo zfs >/etc/modules-load.d/zfs.conf";

dnf config-manager --enable zfs-testing;

dnf install kernel-devel zfs;

reboot ;

dkms status;
    zfs, 2.0.5: added
    zfs, 2.1.0: added

modprobe zfs;
    modprobe: FATAL: Module zfs not found in directory /lib/modules/4.18.0-305.3.1.el8_4.x86_64

any suggestions?

somebody on the rocky-linux forum managed to get it to work, apparently i have left off a step and didnt read the instructions carefully enough.
