I can't find any information about server RAM and CPU availability.

@leigh-pointer they removed the DNN logo from the home page, however DNN is still listed in the list of apps you can install once you are logged into your account

Sharing my experience with this service https://www.monsterasp.net

1. Very simple signup - just enter an email and a few basic fields (no credit card)
2. You immediately receive an email with an activation code
3. Once your account is activated you can create a website (for free)
4. The creation process is very fast.. it is finished in seconds
5. Now you can edit the website which was created and install an Application:

6. Choose Oqtane from the list and click Install

7. The application is installed in less than 1 minute. Then you can browse to the Url and the Oqtane Install Wizard is displayed
8. I had not created a database yet (free databases include SQL Server Express 2022 or MySQL 8.x)... so I chose SQLite for the Database Type and entered the standard admin account info and clicked Install
9. The installation completed very quickly and I was able to login
10. Since this service is only offering Oqtane 6.1.0 and I wanted to run the latest 6.1.1 release I navigated to the System Update option in the Admin Dashboard in Oqtane

11. I clicked the Download 6.1.1 option and then selected Upgrade

12. The upgrade process executed quickly and once it was completed I navigated to the System Info option in the Admin Dashboard and it confirmed that I was running 6.1.1

The fact that the automated upgrades work flawlessly on this hosting service is a huge benefit to Oqtane users.

The free website plan uses Windows Server 2022 and includes 256MB of RAM.

Definitely a good experience - I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to try Oqtane.

It still does not specify how much CPU computation will be asigned to my site (i.e. how many CPU cores or vCPU will I have available). How will it behave during traffic spikes and thousands of request?

P.S: I'm not critizing the hosting platform, it's an amazing solution for the prices it offers. I'm just wondering how it can be scaled.

@mdmontesinos I will send them an email to ask about CPU cores (they may want to add this info on the page above). As far as scalability, I think traditional hosting providers are best for small to medium traffic sites (ie. ~95% of sites)... but if you have a large site or a site with large traffic spikes (ie. ~5% of sites) then you will need the elastic scale of a global cloud provider (and you will pay a premium for the elastic scalability).

@sbwalker Thanks, keep me posted on their response. I know large sites do require more infrastructure (i.e. Azure), but I'd like to know really how much this provider can offer.

@mdmontesinos the answer I received is "we use AMD Epyc/Ryzen processors with 16 cores, 192 GB of RAM, and NVMe disks... web hosting does not have any hardware usage limits". I realize this does not answer your question, but because this is a shared hosting service I think it is safe to assume that you do not get any "dedicated" CPU. If you absolutely need dedicated compute then you should use a global cloud provider.

I tried one installation with MySql8.0(MariaDB database) but it got failed.

Does Oqtane supports MariaDB?

@techravi007 yes Oqtane supports MySQL - however there is an issue in the current release #5173 which is resolved and will be included in 6.1.2. If you want to install on MonsterASP.NET free plan you can use SQLite or SQL Server Express (free).

I tried the latest release 6.1.2 with MySql(MariaDB) and still getting same error as mentioned in previous comment.

Am I missing anything at my end or issue is still to be addressed?

P.S. - I can see this PR #5176 was merged in 6.1.2 but not sure if address this issue.
