I have a huge task file and many remote task files, so I run it this way.

task-tui --yes 

Because the list displayed is huge, I use the /u to filter, but it means I cant use the Up and Down keys after the results are shown.

So I am forced to exactly type if the task command.

I was wondering what you think about the idea of having the Up and Down keys still work, after I have used the /u filter ?

I am on Darwin btw.

Thanks for the confirmation about the feature being a decent idea .

The other thing I noticed , which is related , is that when using the standard task binary , I don’t get any command completion on the cli . Like when you have a deeply nested argument like “ task a:b:c:d”. Is it just me not having task auto completion not setup correctly ?

The reason I bring this up is because it’s almost identical to the request that this issue is about .

So maybe we could make task-tui work in a mode where you can get “ auto completion “ on the CLI too . In a way it’s almost identical to what the TUI request is. It’s almost like providing the same feature for the cli and TUI. The TUI could up if you press some magic key.

In CLI mode, it could use the tab to do the completion with up down keys , and then return for final execution . Basically how all Unix tooling works like a make file ..

I'm sorry, but it looks like I confused you. I thought you were talking about navigating to the start and the end of the whole list. I don't use such a feature by myself, and that is where I failed.

The list component from the library which I used to implement the main UI has its own key bindings and I putted them as is, but overrided several of them (e.g. /, s or h). So, I just tested, and all the primary navigation keys are working just fine.

• key down or tab to select a next task
• Key up to select a previous task
• end (or fn+key right on macos) to select a last task
• home (or fn+key left on macos) to select a first task

We need to think about your problem. It may not be very intuitive, but to return to the task list after entering the filter, you should press Enter. Is that what you did?

Yes, you're right here, thank you. I just added support for this feature.

About auto-completion, I think it's probably an excellent proposal. Since it's unclear how to conveniently include it in the tui, I need time to refine it.

I tried the latest version on my monster task project.

Its all works like before, and seems stable.

Filter is still not working in the way I hoped.

Here is the problem I am hitting:

I filtered on "base", but then on my Mac the up down keys dont allow me to navigate through the "base" options.

I kick it off with this, and it does not go there, and forces me into filtering.
