Does Meteor Lake support SR-IOV graphics virtualization?

SR-IOV Graphics Virtualization Support on Meteor Lake

The requirements state that Intel SR-IOV graphics virtualization works on Intel generations starting with Alder Lake. While both ADL and RPL work fine, there seems to be a problem with MTL (14th Gen Core). The Intel graphics driver running in the guest reports error 43 and does not load.

I have tested the recommended linux-intel-lts kernel and also the i915-sriov-dkms module with the same error. It looks like both projects have already noticed this issue:

Is there a known workaround to get it to work on MTL or is the virtualization currently only supported on ADL and RPL?

We haven't closely followed the SR-IOV feature recently. The situation with the non-upstream graphics driver is currently too much effort to maintain, so together with the issue mentioned in #47, we decided to drop it for now.

Makes sense. A lot has changed since the introduction of the Intel Core Ulta series.

There is also an unfortunate statement from Intel that SR-IOV is not supported on Meteor and Luna Lake. I am not sure if this means it is currently unsupported or if there will be no support at all. The GPU PCI is still SR-IOV capable and it does not appear to be a hardware limitation.
