Fixes #55

I did not run the tests, nor check them 😓 this is my 10 minutes attempt at adding python 3.10 and 3.11 support, let's see how it fares 🤞🏾

@ocefpaf let me know if the wording on the warning is good enough and if DeprecationWarning is a good warning category and about the message on README.md.

@gforcada thank you for the PR and I'm sorry we never got this one sorted out in time. I got kicked out of this project and I hope the new owners will guide you in this.

Please don't ping me for anything related to this project. I'm quite upset with the aggressive takeover here and I don't want to have anything to do with it again. Time to take care of my own mental health.
