Status Bar Syntax Options Exceed Screen Size With No Ability to Scroll

Description of the bug

As the title states only so many Syntax options from the status bar are available because of the host screen size. This also applies to Remote Connections. There is no way to scroll the list that I can see so you are limited to what fits as options.

This first image is using VNC client.

The second image is my laptop.

There are Up arrows appearing at the top of the Syntax list. I'm guessing there's also a bottom arrow but no way to get to it?

Steps to reproduce

Make sure your syntax list height exceeds your available screen height.

Expected behavior

I'd expect to get a vertical slider which would be the typical behavior that would prevent this type of problem where every device has a potential different screen height. Arrows at the top and bottom to relocate your position in a list assume you can get to them.

Actual behavior

You can only select your syntax from the options you can see. I'm not exactly sure how this list is generated but there are probably options that I will never use - but when you say "never"... Options that maybe could be removed to work around this problem? The list is different between my laptop and desktop which was what started this.

Menus are native OS controls, which applications have limited control about.

The only viable option is to add more ST like alternatives for crucial commands.

A built-in command to re-assign file extensions is unfortunatelly missing.

Just tried on my windows VM and it's working as intended:

That's what it looks on all my machines as well. The point is ST most likely not having any control about correct rendering. I wonder what the horizontal scrollbar in OPs screenshot is from. I wouldn't expect a menu control to have such thing.

Beyond that scrolling behavior of those menues (on each platform) is far from ideal, IMHO.

I'd really go the VS Code way and just popup a command palette with proper input handler when clicking that button. Ability to use fuzzy search is soo much more powerful.
