Media dashboard tabs - not available

Which Umbraco version are you using? (Please write the exact version, example: 10.1.0)

Bug summary

If a user group don't have access to the media root, but only access from a specific folder.

Then the media dashboard tabs are not avaliable ?

Is that on purpose ?

With access to root media

Only access to Demo folder

Steps to reproduce

Giv a usergroup access to "Media" (root media)

Check that dashboard tabs are avalible.

Now give the usergroup only access to a folder., now the dashboard tabs are not avaliable.

Expected result / actual result

That every user has access to the dashboard tabs . Ex. if custom dashboards are added to the media section. Then they are not avalible if the user don't have root access.

Hey Thomas, I have been able to verify this behavior.

It seems to happen because when the user clicks the media section, the UI automatically selects the folder they have access too instead of showing the main (root) view that has the dashboards.

I think the correct behavior should be to not redirect to the allowed folder if there is more than one dashboard configured but instead hide the content (mediaFolderBrowser) dashboard instead and show the next one in the list by default. Ran this past our UX man and he seems to be happy with that approach.
